A charming interpretation of a Wood Elf by Matt Buckley - from the EDGE contemporary sculpture collection. Belief in elves goes back centuries and is found in many cultures, they are usually seen as supernatural beings with magical powers and ethereal beauty. In more modern times they have appeared in literature like Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and to this day have a place in popular culture largely due to J R R Tolkein's The Lord of the Rings.
