Orangutan bust by Matt Buckley - from the EDGE contemporary sculpture collection. Known as the 'gardeners of the forest' Orangutans are the world's largest tree climbing animals - their ape-like shape and shaggy reddish fur makes them instantly recognisable. Orangutans live in the forests of Indonesia and Malaysia, however they are under threat due to the deforestation of these areas - the WWF is trying to counter this with a number of conservation programmes. Matt Buckley's superb sculpture has captured the piercing eyes and soulful expression of this magnificent creature perfectly.
This is a Limited Edition of just 200 of this spectacular Orangutan bust, finished in a stunning metallic copper and gold patina, echoing the rich tones and hues of a sunset from the Orangutans' native Borneo.
Each piece will be signed by Matt Buckley and comes with an individually numbered and signed Certificate of Authenticity.
